The scenic Rock Creek Park stretches across 1800 acres from the state of Maryland into the District of Columbia. Administered by the National Park Service, this large urban park was authorized in 1890 and also happened to be the third park to be made a national park in the country. Perfect for a motorhome camping trip, the park provides an opportunity to be surrounded by this green oasis that offers recreation, lots of fresh air, and a chance to soak in the history of the park. Located in the city of Rockville, Rock Creek Park is not very far from the country’s capital city, Washington, DC. Renting an RV makes it very convenient to travel around, and you’ll find a range of affordable RV rentals in Montgomery County.

With the main section of Rock Creek Park located along the Rock Creek Valley, several smaller parks are encompassed within Rock Creek Park. Hardwood trees, rocky outcrops, lakes, and streams dot the Rock Creek Park, making it highly sought-after with outdoor enthusiasts. The 75-acre Needwood Lake and the 55-acre Frank Lake are major attractions, along with Meadowside Nature Center, the archery range, and the golf course.
