Discover Alma RV rentals for memorable road trips

Positioned right in the heart of the “mitt” of Michigan is Alma. It was established in 1853 by Ralph Ely. It was originally best known for the Alma Springs Sanitarium that was built in the 1880s, but eventually, when cars were being mass-produced, it became the home of Republic Motor Truck Company. When you book an RV in Alma, you will be perfectly positioned to explore numerous wonderful sites throughout the state of Michigan. You will be a short drive away from the shores of Lake Huron to the east and Lake Michigan to the west. Traveling north along Route 127 and merging into I-75, you will be able to cruise on over the famous Mackinac Bridge leading to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

The Great Outdoors

When Michigan was first settled by the Europeans, many of the native trees had been completely cut down. This is an interesting fact for those who may rent a motorhome in Alma and enjoy the outdoors; they will be hard-pressed to find any truly ancient trees across the lower portion of this state. The trees have long since been replanted and have grown to impressive stature, and because of that, there are wonderful parks to enjoy.

RV Parks

RV parks are the best way to enjoy this incredible countryside. If you want to simply relax, check out Leisure Lake Family Campground in Sumner. They have pull-through sites and big rig access, which can be great when you have a large Alma motorhome rental. They have full hookup service as well, including 50 amp electric. If you have a dog traveling with you, they allow pets, and you can get waterfront access, but you may need to call ahead to see if those sites are available.

Exploring the City

You can certainly check out the small downtown part of Alma, but if you want a truly memorable experience, visit Dow Gardens in Midland. Originally established in 1899, this 110-acre garden attracts over 100,000 people every year. You can enjoy the unique and gorgeous landscape, go on a tour of the historic Pines Home, and take part in any number of hands-on educational programs. This can be a memorable excursion when you rent a motorhome in Alma.

We had the most amazing time in this camper! It was beautifully maintained, super comfy, and had all the comforts of home. Being off-grid was no problem at all as the solar setup powered everything we needed.

The unit was great. They went above and beyond. Lots of extras. Showed us how everything works. Had a hitch and bars for us to use. Wonderful folks.

Casey was great making sure we understood how everything worked with the motorhome. She sent videos which were very helpful. She contacted us on the second day to insure everything was going ok.
