Wixom is a small city in southeast Michigan a little more than half an hour's drive from Detroit. Though there was an earlier permanent settler by the name of Alonzo Sibley, the town was named after the Wixom family who granted the right to the railroad to pass through their property. Sibley’s and Wixom's partnership would later make the town an important hub of grain, produce and lumber during the Industrial Revolution.
