Twin Acres Campground

Restaurants, grocery stores, and a few gas stations can be found just east of the Twin Acres campsites. Mexican cuisine, pizza, and fast-casual eateries are a few of the nearby dining options on offer. The neighboring cities of Maumee and Perrysburg are just a short drive from the campground. Both towns are home to various shopping centers, restaurants, and other conveniences. There are lots of urban attractions to check out when you rent an RV in Lucas County, Ohio. In addition to serving up some of the best chili dogs, Toledo has a lot to offer. The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium houses over 10,000 animals spanning 700 species, some of which are endangered. Critters to see here include koalas, hippos, polar bears, flamingos, and tigers. The zoo features some additional attractions, including the Promedica Museum of Natural History, with displays highlighting marine life, Ohio's natural past, and more. Hands-on exhibits feature animal bones and pelts, and visitors can see Komodo dragons and other reptiles, too. After exploring the museum, take a ride on the Safari Railway or traverse the Aquarium Adventure Trail to see more of what the zoo has to offer. Other attractions not to miss while in Toledo include the Toledo Botanical Garden, the National Museum of The Great Lakes, and the kid-friendly Imagination Station science center and museum. The Allen County Museum in Lima has a collection of fascinating exhibits. Noah’s Ark Unveiled features a refurbished version of the original craft. Locomotion in Lima highlights the area's pioneering past, and you can see other acquisitions, including decorative arts and rocks and minerals. If you are really trying to get wild, you can head up to Sandusky and visit Cedar Point, also known as "the roller coaster capital of the world." This massive amusement park features 18 different world-class roller coasters along with many other rides and attractions. There are rides for all ages, ranging from the family-friendly Woodstock Express to the Top Thrill Dragster, which hits speeds of 120 miles per hour. There’s also a water park with its own collection of water slides and wave pools. Dining venues and live performances make this park a one-stop spot for endless entertainment when you're touring eastern Ohio with a rental motorhome.
