Lewisburg is a borough in Union County, Pennsylvania, and its county seat. The town was founded in 1785 by Ludwig Derr, a German immigrant who purchased a number of land tracts and established good relations with the local Native Americans. A post office was built in 1796 under the name “Lewisburgh” and was changed to “Lewisburg” in 1893. Records show that Derr sold some of his property later on before traveling to Philadelphia to sell more lots; some lots were sold, but Derr vanished without a trace.

Over its history, Lewisburg has been Union County's commercial center, handling the shipping of and payment for grain and other farm produce. Logging and wood shipments were handled on the West Branch Susquehanna River; old factories and the remains of old stone structures can still be found along the river's banks. The borough has a park in its downtown core, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with several other buildings and a railroad freight station.

Book an RV in Union County, and you can choose from a long list of RVs that are uniquely suited to the Pennsylvania countryside. Visitors should consider spending some time in other nearby communities to make the most of their visit. Williamsport is where Little League Baseball first began; the Little League World Series is held each summer in nearby South Williamsport. Duncannon is located along the Appalachian Trail, which descends from the mountain and passes through the town on several roadways. Lewistown has a monument at the intersection of Main and Market Streets that serves as a monument to the Logan Guards, one of five companies, all from Pennsylvania, that were the first units in history to protect the national capital of the U.S. Your Lewisburg travel trailer rental is your invitation to experience this historic area for yourself.
