Thirty miles outside of San Antonio to the southwest along Interstate 35, is the community of Devine, whose slogan states “The Name Says It All”. This divine rural settlement was established in 1881 and is named for the honorable Judge Thomas Jefferson Devine of San Antonio. The city primarily relied upon growing corn, cotton, and other small vegetables for its early years, until oil and natural gas were discovered nearby.

Experience the Sites and Scenery

Devine is surrounded by epic desert landscapes and beautiful wilderness, but you won't find much in town as far as parks are concerned. Devine City Park is a public green space in town for people to convene and enjoy the great outdoors. The park has a series of park benches, picnic tables, playscapes, and a large open grassy space for people to throw a frisbee or walk their dogs.

City Attractions

Devine may be a bit small for people hoping to see big city attractions, but there are a few notable exceptions. The historic downtown section in the center of town is full of old western style buildings reminiscent of a spaghetti western film. The old Adams Company Lumber Yard building is one example of elegant brickwork that the area is known for. The Stroud Blacksmith Shop and the Bigfoot Wallace Museum are also some of the oldest buildings in town worth seeing. The Shooting Star Museum is a unique institution that features some old antique vehicles like planes, trucks, and automobiles.

<p>The San Antonio metro area is no stranger to camping, so a bevy of wonderful RV resorts, campgrounds, and parks can be found with ease when you book a motorhome rental in Devine. Alamo River RV Resort &amp; Campground has spacious sites and is only a brief drive from downtown San Antonio. Tejas Valley RV Park &amp; Campground has campsites for even the largest recreational vehicles. Hidden Valley RV Park is a delightful and accommodating park with nature trails and a clubhouse for entertainment. Admiralty RV Resort is close to Six Flags Fiesta and has two swimming pools, basketball courts, and a family park for guests to utilize.</p>

This was our 2nd year in a row we rented Hector and Yvonne’s rv for our yearly trip to the Frio. Hector and Yvonne are the nicest people to rent from and if you have any questions they always get right back to you. Their rv is now 2 years old and it still smells brand new! It is very clean, they take very good care of their rv! If you are looking for a clean and well taken care rv, this is the rv for you! I will definitely rent again next year for our Frio trip if it is available! Love working with Hector and Yvonne! Thank ya’ll so much for your kindness and all of your help for our Frio trip!
