Discover Lake Cisco RV rentals for memorable road trips

As the saying goes, "X marks the spot." This unusually shaped lake, Lake Cisco, was created in the early 1920s in an effort to create a source of water for Cisco and the other nearby towns. For reasons lost to the ravages of time, a large pool was built inside the dam along with a skating rink, a small zoo, and an amusement park. At the time, the pool was billed as the largest concrete pool in the world (though its actual dimensions are unknown). The hollow dam was unfortunately closed the public in the 1970s, and vandals burned the skating rink. The smoke also irreparably damaged other parts of the interior, too, preventing any possibility of reopening the interior in the future.

Getting Outdoors

Encompassing about 1,000 acres, Lake Cisco's relatively narrow - barely a quarter of a mile across at its widest point, and about three miles long. However its main redeeming trait is its depth - the lake is unusually deep-sided for a manmade lake in Texas, clocking in at about 70 feet. The bluffs and low cliffs also serve as a channel, intensifying wind that tends to kick up in the late afternoon. As a result of these conditions, fishing for largemouth bass, channel catfish, white crappie, and redear sunfish are quite optimal.

Camping at Lake Cisco

Noisy air conditioners and annoying hotel neighbors give way to birdsong and serene waves lapping at the shores in the perfect RV rental. Camping at Lake Cisco may be the best choice for a memorable vacation. Lake Cisco Lodge and Campground has around 50 sites, many of which have hookups. Depending on the location and the season, some sites prohibit campfires. Pets are permitted. Heads-up: there are no restroom facilities.

Exploring the Area

Renting an RV makes exploring the local attractions and sightseeing spots much more convenient and comfortable, especially during the peak summer heat. Find cute little bookstores, boutique clothing stores, and sidewalk cafes. Steeped in history, many towns have historical museums and landmarks that highlight the area’s role in the Old West heritage. Breckenridge’s Aviation Museum features dozens of World War II-era aircraft, including the popular Grumman FM-2P Wildcat. Callahan City Cemetery is all that remains of a bustling, vibrant town in the late 1800s. It’s a somber memorial of those who came before, paving the way for a modern world.

Delivery and setup made everything so easy. They walked us through how to use everything which was amazing for a first time RV user. The RV was clean and perfect for the family. We will absolutely use them again when we return.

Overall good/average. Not excellent. This camper had seven broken issues that were not mentioned in the listing, booking, or Messages with the Host. Most of the problems, although annoying, did not cause too much trouble for us. The coffee pot they promised was broken, and the showerhead was broken and when I told them about those things, they did come back and fix them, by bringing new items, the very first night. So kudos to the host for that. Screens on doors were ripped, back door did not open, outside lights did not work, bedroom shade broken (would not stay up). The camper was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Kitchen was not well stocked. Host was polite and apologized for the broken issues but I would not rent from this Host again if possible

Perfect RV for our little weekend away from home. Everything worked and was in very good shape! Will definitely keep this one in mind for future adventures!
