Camping at Lake Moomaw

Whilst there are numerous hike-in only campsites dotted around the lake, finding somewhere to park up your RV rental during your Lake Moomaw camping trip can be slightly more limited.Most campers make a beeline for the well-equipped Bolar Mountain Recreation Area. Sitting on the western banks of Lake Moomaw, this campground is the only one in the area to provide travelers with any sort of hook up facilities. Campers can enjoy 20 or 30amp hookups for their rental RV as well as access to washroom facilities, potable water, and an onsite dump station. Your furry friends are more than welcome to join you during your motorhome camping trip here, as long as they stay on a leash!There are two other campsites in the area, which can accommodate RV’s known as Morris Hill and McClintic Point. While both of these would be considered as a primitive campsite; they offer travelers a scenic and peaceful spot to lay their heads for the night. Although McClintic Point is quite simply a clearing to park up in, Morris Hill provides a convenient dump station, potable water, and even the chance to grab a cold shower.
