The Great Outdoors

Stanford is an ideal destination to rent an RV if you want to explore the Portola Redwoods State Park, which sprawls across 2,800 acres of immense coastal redwoods. There are 18 miles of hiking trails to explore, including a track that leads to the Tip Toe Falls - a pretty cascade that tumbles into a small pool fed by Fall Creek. If you’re interested in the local history, the park also features the site of a shingle mill named after William Page who was responsible for building the Page Mill Road.

RV Parks

Pick up your motorhome rental in Stanford and drive north to the San Francisco RV Resort, which is within easy access of all the Bay Area attractions. It features laundry facilities, barbecues, and a clubhouse, as well as a convenience store where you can pick up supplies. Another nearby option is the Treasure Island RV Park, a primarily residential RV and mobile home community that has a handful of short-stay sites. There are laundry facilities, showers and restrooms, as well as a designated dog walking area.

Exploring the City

Park your camper rental in Stanford and visit the campus of Stanford University on foot, with the option to join a guided tour or explore independently with the help of a self-guided tour map. Admire the Richardsonian Romanesque and California Mission Revival architecture that lines the Main Quad, then marvel at the innovative design of the Science and Engineering Quad. At the center of the campus stands the Stanford Memorial Church, which is one of the earliest interdenominational churches to be built in the United States.

The Van was very nice. Everything I expected. Kelvin was great. He showed me around the van when I met up with him. He made himself available himself during my trip and helped me out with everything. Kelvin returned my texted quickly and took a phone call. It was like borrowing the van from an old friend. I highly recommend renting from Kelvin and will use him again in the future if I need a van. 5 out of 5 stars.

We have rented a lot of vans to adventure out west and this was by far our favorite experience to date. Anthony gave an indepth guide to all the features of the van prior to departure. As it is an older van, it does have a smaller gas tank as to be expected so plan gas stop accordingly. We camped with our infant and had space for a bassinet. Even with lows in the 40s the van was warm without an additional heat source with just sleeping bags. The head space with the pop up and additional bed were awesome as we had some rain and were able to have additional space to stay out of the elements. Plus Chewie is just such an awesome fan and experience if you never experienced a VW camper van.
