St. Andrews State Park campers can enjoy excellent fishing and swimming, stroll through a variety of beautiful coastal landscapes, and participate in a wide range of watersports. And with a 176-site campground that can accommodate RVs of up to 45 feet, there are plenty of reasons why St. Andrews should be high on your list of must-visit destinations.

Getting Outdoors

There's water pretty much everywhere you look in St. Andrews State Park, so it won't surprise you to learn that much of the activity in the park revolves around either the clear waters of the Gulf or St. Andrews Bay.

The easiest way to make the most of these spectacular coastal surroundings is to go for a swim. The park boasts more than a mile of beachfront, including some of the whitest sand you're likely to ever lay eyes on. You can wade into the water straight from the beach, or, if you're visiting between March and Labor Day Weekend, book a day trip out to Shell Island and take to the water there.

Scuba diving and snorkeling are two other favorite activities in St. Andrews State Park. The park's rock jetties attract all manner of underwater marine life, and you can rent all the equipment you need to explore what lies beneath the ocean surface from concession stands throughout the park.

If fishing is your passion, you can take out a boat or cast a line straight from the shore. There are two fishing piers and jetties if you want to stay on dry land, plus a boat ramp located on the Grand Lagoon. Flounder, Spanish mackerel, sea trout, and more can all be caught here, but be aware that you may need a fishing license before wetting a line. Canoes and kayaks are also available for rent within the park, and there's a kayak launch providing easy access to St. Andrews Bay.

Finally, if you're looking to do some land-based exploring, make sure you tackle the hike around Gator Lake. It's a scenic stroll with some lovely water views. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of an alligator soaking up some of that warm Florida sunshine.

Camping at St. Andrews State Park

If you want to camp in an RV at St. Andrews State Park, book an RV in Bay County and take your pick of the park's 176 campsites. These sites are spread around two campground loops, which are nestled among serene woodlands just a short walk from Grand Lagoon.

All sites have electrical and water hookups as well as their own picnic tables and grills. Motorhomes of up to 45 feet are welcome in the campground, and despite its size and popularity, the campground still boasts a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

There are five bathroom and shower buildings on-site, with laundry facilities and dump stations available as well. The boat launching area and park concessions are just a short walk from the campground, so you won't have to walk too far to experience some of the park's best activities.

Finally, if you want to camp at St. Andrews State Park with your pup, pets are welcome on all campsites.

Exploring the Area

When you're ready to bring your St. Andrews State Park camping adventure to an end, or when you just want to venture out of the park to explore the surrounding area, there's plenty to see and do nearby.

For example, if you're craving some seafood delights, make the 20-minute drive to Panama City and treat your taste buds to a tour of the Oyster Trail.

If you're keen to spend more time on those bright white sands for which this part of Florida is famous, head a few miles northwest to soak up the sunshine and laid-back vibe of Laguna Beach.

And if you'd rather find another great state park to explore in your rental RV, Grayton Beach State Park, a well-known playground for watersports enthusiasts and nature lovers, is just 45 minutes away.

Whatever landscape you want to explore and whatever experience you want to enjoy while renting an RV near St. Andrews State Park, you won't have to go too far to find what you're looking for.
