Elkhart, Indiana is a moderately-sized town in the far north of the state, only around 10 miles from the Michigan state line. It is situated around 100 miles east of Chicago, Illinois and 150 miles north of the state's capital, Indianapolis. The city's claim to fame is that, with all the RV factories nearby, it has been given the nickname the "RV Capital of the World."

Museums, art galleries, theaters, and antique shops are all available nearby. There are also several botanical gardens, historical sites, and parks available for your enjoyment. The area is also known for its large Amish population, and numerous shops that sell their homemade wares can be found throughout the region. Shipshewana Northpark Campground is located around 20 miles to the east, in Shipshewana. The park offers full-hookup sites, WiFi, a game room and even has its own ice cream stand! Please note, the camp is only open April through October.

EXPLORING THE CITY
