If it's a nice quiet campground you're looking for when in Muncie, Indiana, then you'll want to check in to Big Oak Park where, as the name suggests, the abundance of really big old oak trees will give you plenty of shade from the summer heat The same trees are also quite effective at blocking out a good amount of city and highway noise. Close enough to the highway for easy access, and just 4 miles off the interstate, Big Oak Park offers reasonably level, grassy pull throughs with ample elbow room, lots of shade, and picnic tables. Hookups include 30 and 50 amp electric, plus water and sewer. The owners are very friendly and hospitable, and if you call ahead they will reserve a site for you and meet you on arrival to direct you in, unless you would rather just arrive and pick your own site. The park is pet friendly, however the campground is rather rustic, so there are are no amenities to speak of.

Relax by a placid river at White River Campground, located just 20 miles northwest of Carmel. This campground is just one part of the larger River Road County Park. The site itself encompasses 26 acres of forested terrain that is ideal for hiking, canoeing, bird-watching, or wildlife viewing. Many aspects of the park are inspired by the ancient history of this site, which is steeped in the archaic traditions of the Woodland People. As you travel through the park, you notice much of the decor was inspired by the artistic traditions of its first residents. Sites have ample space, and are designed for enjoying the peace and quiet of the outdoors. Picnic tables and shelters on the site are convenient gathering spaces for friends and family. Daily and weekly rates are available for RVs, and guests can choose from sites with full hookups, those with just electrical and water, or opt for rustic campsites. There is also a boat launch, dump house, recreation room and shelter house available for guests to use for a small extra fee.
