Getting Outdoors

The lake offers all sorts of recreation for both residents and visitors. Although there is no public marina, there is a public boat launch to access the water. Because the lake is so quiet, it is a wildlife watcher's dream, so there is a good chance of spotting a range of birds and animals around the shore when you rent a camper near Chicagon Lake.

Camping at Lake Chicagon

When camping in an RV rental, one of the best places to camp is at the bordering Pentoga Park, which is located on the southern tip of the lake. There are over 100 campsites here, so there is plenty of room for everyone. The sites offer a 30 and 50 amp service with fire rings and have both pull-thru and back-in sites available. There are hot showers, a dump station, swimming facilities, laundry facilities and a number of beautiful trails available for campers to use.

Exploring the Area

Iron County is simply brimming with things to do, and if you fancy a day out from the lake, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to things to do and places to go. The Harbour House Museum of Crystal Falls is a good place to start. It is a hands-on museum with plenty going on throughout the year. This family home was built in the 20th century and features a unique, steamboat style architecture with a wraparound porch offering beautiful views of the city. The first floor showcases the way of life in the 1900s while the second features 5 exhibit rooms, full of information on the history of the surrounding area.
