With 16 miles of trails, Governor Thompson State Park is perfect for hiking. The trails range in length and difficulty, making it easy for hikers of all levels to spend time at this scenic place. The terrain features a couple of steep sections, but it is generally flat. If you enjoy discovering local flora, you will find plenty of wildflowers, plants, and trees all around. Once winter rolls in, cross-country skiers from the nearby communities arrive in this place. They use 6 miles of groomed trails or go off the beaten track.

Camping at Governor Thompson State Park

The campground is located in the north part of the state park and has 100 sites for long vehicles. Even though it has just the basic amenities like showers, flush toilets, and a dump station, this place is suitable for a long motorhome camping trip. The campground was built recently, so the facilities are new and well-maintained. Campers will also have access to electric hookups on 16 sites. Water and sewer hookups are not available.
