In south-central Michigan, the small village of Pinckney is full of surprises. A few thousand residents call Pinckney home, a town that has been a pleasant place to live since its founding in the 1820s. The community was named by William Kirkland, in honor of his brother, Charles Pinckney Kirkland. The town was officially platted in 1837 and later confirmed as an incorporated village in 1883.
