Only a few miles northeast of Waldron is where you’ll find the Lake Hudson State Recreation Area. The park is particularly known for the lack of light pollution in the surrounding area and was recognized as the first United States dark-sky preserve. The Waterloo-Pinkney Trail, stretching 36 miles runs through the park and connects with the Pinkney Recreation Area just to the northeast.
