Clementon is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, which was established in 1925 after a February 13 referendum voted to divide Clementon Township into nine municipalities, including Clementon. The Clementon Amusement Park formerly had one of the oldest roller coasters in the nation, nicknamed “The Jack Rabbit;” it was built from wood in 1919 and operated until 2002. It was popular with area residents even after modern steel roller coasters become more common but was torn down in 2007. There are a handful of widely recognized people associated with the borough, such as Arthur Rose Eldred, a business executive who was the very first Eagle Scout in the nation, and Arnie Fish, a university instructor and professional bridge player who has written books about the game.
