Discover Swinging Bridge Reservoir RV rentals for memorable road trips
With eighteen miles of fresh, spring-fed waters, Swinging Bridge Reservoir ranks as one of the best places in Sullivan County, and there is quite a lot of competition! The reservoir is one of the five in the area that powers a nearby generating system, with the waters regulated by a dam at the south end of the reservoir. Although water levels vary throughout the year, there is a maximum depth of 120 feet.
Swinging Bridge Reservoir is diverse in many ways, with different areas providing visitors with different experiences. The two finger-like sections at one end offer peace and quiet due to the fact that no motorized boats are allowed in this section, and they can become quite shallow depending on the time of year. The middle is the wilder section, however,
in contrast to the wild frontage, this is also where many grand homes are located on the lake shore. The eastern end of the reservoir is known for its beauty, which is undeveloped in order to protect wildlife. It is this beauty that brings people from neighboring towns of Rock Hill, Monticello, Bethel, and much further afield to book an RV in Sullivan County.

Getting Outdoors
The reservoir is one of the few motorized boat lakes in the county, and is one of the biggest by far, making it a popular spot for boaters. Despite its popularity, it never seems crowded, as there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the water and go camping with an RV. A public marina is located around the shores, which provide, easy access to the water, as well as boat storage and rentals for those that don't own their own vessel.Fishermen are often also seen out on the water, with the most common species caught in the water being smallmouth bass, walleye, and common carp. There is certainly no shortage of fish as every spring the Department of Environmental Conservation stocks the waters up with many species, with others including Pickerill, bluegill, and catfish, to name a few. There are a few tournaments held throughout the year for those that enjoy competitive fishing, but the majority of the time people enjoy the more leisurely way of life, fishing by day and RV camping at Swinging Bridge Reservoir by night.Due to much of the reservoir, especially on the eastern end, being undeveloped, the lake is a mecca for nature lovers and bird watchers. This end of the reservoir has been purposely undeveloped for his reason, leaving the rugged beauty of nature to take over. There is an eagle nest of preserve made out of 300 feet of shoreline that is completely restricted from all development. This whole end of Swinging Bridge Reservoir is a gorgeous place to spend a few hours or longer, looking out for beavers and eagles, taking in the tranquility of the wild. Other creatures, you may be lucky enough to spot include deer, fox, rabbits, blue heron, and even black bears.

We chose to have the trailer dropped off/ picked up. It was clean, had bedding, and spacious. Jesus was very efficient and helpful. Would definitely rent again!
We’re a family of four and rented Daisy the Airstream for a weekend in the Catskills and truly the best experience! It was delivered right to our campsite, spotless and ready to go. After a quick walkthrough on how everything worked, we were all set. Daisy was super clean, cozy, and made our trip so special. We already can’t wait to rent her again! You will love it!
