It traverses small towns and rural areas in four counties. The trail is actually made from two railroads; the North Fork, which runs for 46 miles in an east-west direction from Montpelier to Maumee via Wauseon, and the South Fork, which is 15 miles long and connects Maumee to Liberty Center. The Wabash Cannonball Trail is a fantastic way to get off-road and discover northwest Ohio. The path is mostly wide and flat, making it suitable for cyclists, hikers, or horse riders.
