Stuart is a town in Hughes County, Oklahoma with both paved and dirt roads, plentiful tree stands, and large open spaces. The town has a church, a single public school, and a town hall; the town hall is located in a two-story building with a hotel on the second floor. Local lore includes a pub built in 1896 that is said to be haunted; it is reputed to have been the sight of several deaths and subject to minor but unnerving events such as leaving unattended dimes on the bar countertop and bottle caps being thrown at unsuspecting guests.
