Discover Blue Ball RV rentals for memorable road trips

The origins of the name of the Blue Ball town has nothing to do with anything bad. Back in the mid-1700s, the town was originally named Earl Town. John Wallace built an inn, hung a literal blue ball out front, and named it the Blue Ball Inn. The locals, highly amused by the creative sign, started referring to the town as “that town with a blue ball.” It became an unforgettable landmark. Even though the original blue ball was removed when the inn was rebuilt in 1790 to make a larger hotel, the town residents decided to officially change the name in 1833. The hotel fell into disrepair and was torn down in the late 1990s.

The Great Outdoors

Even in the heart of Pennsylvania-Dutch farmland, there are several pockets of pristine wilderness. A Blue Ball RV rental will open up a world of adventure and fun. The French Creek State Park and the neighboring parks, Hopewell Big Woods and Crows Nest Preserve, collectively is the largest chunk of contiguous forests in between New York and Washington, DC. Several miles of multi-use trails wind through the mature woods over tiny babbling streams and through open meadows and groves. The park has been designated an “Important Mammal Area” by the Pennsylvania Game Commission due to a number of rare endangered and threatened animals that reside in the park, one of which is the black bear. The small lake is stocked with several fish, including trout, northern pike, and bass. Pennsylvania is well known for its long, hard winters. If people let the cold keep them indoors, they’d never see daylight. Ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and ice skating are all popular recreational activities at French Creek. Bring your Blue Ball camper rental with you, as there are several campgrounds with hookups in the park and nearby.

RV Parks

Don’t forget that you will need to figure out where you’ll park overnight when you book an RV rental in Blue Ball. There are a handful of campgrounds and RV parks in the area, all with varying degrees of amenities and accommodations. French Creek State Park has RV-friendly campgrounds, and though most sites do have hookups, the other amenities may be too spartan for some people.

Exploring the City

Though the city is as rural as it gets, a motorhome rental from Blue Ball makes it easy to go touring the scenic countryside. Explore the rolling hills blanketed by corn, wheat, and soy, and watch for ancient barns that are somehow standing in spite of enduring 100 years of harsh winters. Some Amish and Mennonite communities have farm stands and markets open to the “English," which is their term for the non-Amish.

The RV was perfect for our 6 adult group. Brandon kept an open line of communication for all our needs. His location is very convenient to several different highways. And he offers parking for your vehicle. I would definitely rent from him again and again.
