Marsh Creek Lake, which gives Marsh Creek State Park its name, is the main draw for visitors setting up camp here. One thing above all else brings them in their droves, fishing. Bass, above all else, are most sought after and can reach impressive sizes. This is encouraged by Marsh Creek State Park’s policy of only bass fish greater than 15 inches can be kept. Alongside the bass fish, Marsh Creek State Park campers can also land panfish, perch, black crappie, and channel catfish. This plethora of fish is also accessible during the winter months when Marsh Creek Lake becomes an ice fishing hotspot.

Along with the great fishing, Marsh Creek State Park’s lake is also an excellent place to get out on the water itself. Although gasoline-powered boats are prohibited on the lake, kayaks, canoes, and electric motors are not. The scale of the lake allows campers to take to the water from the banks of the state park and explore the lake for hours on end. Boat launching ramps can also be found within the state park, which makes accessing the water easy. Those motorhome camping without their own boats should not worry, Marsh Creek State Park’s ‘West Launch Boat Rental’ offers a range of canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards for hire.

Hiking at Marsh Creek State Park is also a favorite of campers as the park is home to over 18 miles worth of hiking trails. These trails crisscross the park’s woodlands, wetlands, and forests, creating a natural wonderland for hikers. The ‘Marsh Creek Long Loop’ is a popular route for hikers in the park, this loop takes hikers through some of the greenest parts of the state park and offers a glimpse of its abundant wildlife. The wildlife includes white-tailed deer, waterfowl, squirrels, and groundhogs.

This is not too much of an issue as RV campsites can be found within a short drive of Marsh Creek State Park. Brandywine Creek Campground, just to the west of Marsh Creek State Park, is an ideal place to set up camp. This campground provides a full 20 amp electric, water, and sewer hookup. There is also free WiFi and numerous pull-thru sites, meaning all sizes of rigs are welcome here.

Another great choice for RV camping near Marsh Creek State Park is Birchview Farm Campground. This campsite offers a full 20, 30, 50 amp electrical, water, and sewage hookup. Facilities on-site include a dump station, free WiFi, a laundrette, RV storage unit, and an on-site swimming pool. Pets are also welcome on-site but must be kept on a leash at all times.
