Getting Outdoors

Since this park is a historical structures’ site, make sure you get to view Washington’s tent at Washington’s Headquarters Museum. This museum displays the exhibits of the Revolutionary War since 1775. Capture a few images of the soaring National Memorial arch monument, and also see the antique Muhlenberg Huts at the Muhlenberg Brigade Area. Later, take a walk through the magnificent Washington Memorial Chapel, admiring the regal architecture and learning more about the history.

When it comes to fishing, you’ll not be disappointed at the wide variety of fish in the Schuylkill River. After finding a safe spot along the bank to drop a line, some of the fish to look out for include the catfish, perch, and bass. Shad and eel are also found here seasonally. If boating is your thing, book a boat cruise on the Schuylkill River and explore Philadelphia City in style. While on this tour, some of the popular sights include the Grays Ferry, the Bartram’s Garden, and the historic bridges along the river.

Don’t forget to pack your favorite hiking boots in your King of Prussia camper rental as the park has some impressive trails. If you’re chasing wonderful views of the park, one of the trails you’ve got to try is the easy 5 miles Joseph Plumb Martin Trail. This paved loop trail is also common with bikers and horseback riders. The moderate 3.7 miles Mount Joy Trail, on the other hand, is shaded, making it perfect for summer hikers.
