Originally established in 1825 as Black Creek, Weatherly, Pennsylvania is a former industrial town that nestles in the Appalachian Mountains in the heart of Carbon County. It was renamed in 1848 after local clockmaker David Weatherly who agreed to build a clock if the town was named after him, although he snuck away without keeping his end of the deal.
