I’ve been full-timing in this 2008 Cruiser RV Funfinder X since last spring so it’s completely set up and ready to go. Want to get away by yourselves? You’ll appreciate the 360 watts of solar power to keep the batteries charged, and the 1500 watt pure sine wave inverter to safely charge your electronics. Also included is a quiet 1,000 watt Honda generator for back-up. There are two new AGM (no maintenance!) deep cycle RV batteries and two 20 lb. cylinder propane tanks which will be full at pick up. Tires were new in 2017 and wheel bearings were recently packed.Dry weight on this trailer is only 2708. You can tow it with your SUV (I tow it with a Toyota Highlander Hybrid) but it needs to be rated for at least 3500 lbs. and have a 7 pin plug with a brake controller mounted inside your vehicle. I will provide the equalizer hitch and sway bar.
Don’t have a tow vehicle? You tell me where and I’ll deliver it, set it up for you, and pick it up after for $100 if it’s within a 30 mile radius of Rapid City or, to be negotiated if it’s over that.
A 16000 BTU furnace will take the chill off in the mornings but if you’re looking for peace and quiet, a Little Buddy heater which is plumbed into the outside propane tanks and can be disconnected and stored when not in use is included. And when you’re plugged in, you may want to use the electric oil-filled radiator space heater to save on propane. If you’re parked at a friend’s house and you don’t want to have to move the trailer to empty the tanks, you can use the FloJet portable macerator waste pump which is wired into the 12 volt system of the trailer. You simply attach the pump to the tank outlet, attach a hose to it (included) and pump the sewage and grey water directly into a toilet or a city sewer line. I’ve used this several times – uphill even with 75 feet of hose and it took less than 5 minutes to empty the black tank, and no mess! The camper also has a great little portable barbecue which mounts to the side and attaches to a permanent gas line there. I replaced the microwave with a convection toaster oven but I only use this if I’m plugged in.There’s a new digital TV and an outside amplified antenna that gets amazing reception if you’re within 50 miles of a tower. And the original built-in 12 volt AM-FM radio and CD player (the DVD player doesn’t work with the digital TV) work and sound great with both inside and outside speakers but there’s also a UE Boom 2 speaker for all of your bluetooth devices. The air conditioner works but I only use it when I’m plugged into a 30 amp outlet. There’s a ceiling vent and a couple of small fans which is all I’ve ever needed. I rarely use the awning but it’s in good condition. There is both an indoor and an outdoor shower. This camper has a large two-way refrigerator/freezer and more than adequate pantry space so you can easily go two weeks or more. The refrigerator will be stocked with all the condiments and the pantry with all the staples and spices. You’re welcome to it; I only ask that you replace anything you use before returning the trailer. I love to cook so you won’t be lacking for pots and pans and utensils. There’s service for 8, wine glasses, a Frieling French Press for your gourmet coffee, plenty of sharp knives, a garlic press…all the comforts of home including folding lawn chairs and tables.Probably the best thing about this camper is the bed! I was able to get my own firm queen size mattress in it and I’ve topped it off with a memory foam pad. There’s plenty of bedding (both flannel and cotton sheets, down comforter, wool blanket, down and foam pillows) for whatever weather you run into and whatever your preference. The dinette also makes into a bed which will sleep one adult or two small children and there’s extra bedding and/or a sleeping bag for that.If you return the camper with the tanks emptied, the propane tanks filled, clean bedding and towels, and the camper cleaned, there will be no charge.
If you don’t want to have to worry about all that, you will be charged as follows:
Deep cleaning/laundry $50
Propane tanks refilled 40
Empty tanks 20
There is one add-on you may want to consider: I have a used one season Sea Eagle 330 Inflatable Kayak with Pro Package which includes two removable seats, foot pump, storage bag and a medium and a large Onxy Movement Curve Paddle Sports life vests. This two person kayak is rated for 500 pounds but it handles well with one, or one and a dog! $30 per day.

Meet your host, Dana

There’s a quote by Italian psychiatrist Robert Assagioli that I kept pinned on the wall above my desk for years…“There is no certainty; there is only adventure.” I believed it, and I lived it, along with another quote which has been said a lot of ways by a lot of different people…“Do what scares you.”
There is no greater exhilaration for me than pushing past my fear to do something for the first time that I couldn’t ever before imagine myself doing. I’ve done it in my personal life; I’ve done it in my professional life; and, God knows, I’ve done it with horses! And now, in my 70s, I’m doing it as a full-time RVer. It’s been a big learning curve for me and I’ve had to do many things that scared me. But here I am. I’m doing it! Back home in South Dakota tonight it’s minus 11 degrees and I’m sitting here enjoying the desert sunset on BLM land in Arizona.
And last summer, I was enjoying the sunsets on the Clark Fork River in Montana from the inflatable kayak I’d wanted for years and finally bought.
When I get back to the Black Hills in June, I’ll be taking a break from RVing for a couple of months and I hope those who rent my Funfinder will experience the sense of well-being that I have felt living with nature, and the exhilaration that comes from getting out there and doing it!
