Hords Creek Lake/Flatrock Park

Book an RV in Coleman County and find yourself surrounded by fun things to do that everyone in the family will enjoy. There are a couple of museums you can visit in Brownwood. The Brown County Museum of History and the Firearms Museum of Texas are housed in an old jail from the local area. The building is available to tour, and it offers exhibits that highlight the history of the local region, such as when it was used as a war camp during World War II. There is also the Martin and Frances Lehnis Railroad Museum that provides information on that industry and the effect it has had on this area over the years. RV camping at this campground makes it easy to reach all of these destinations. Texas is a big state, so you may have to travel a short distance to reach some of your destinations. At the Abilene Zoo, you can enjoy many different animal exhibits, some of which are from outside of North America. There are rides, such as a carousel and a train. You will also find a pond where you can check out some ducks or geese. Some educational programs are offered for the animals, and you may even get the chance to feed them. Visit Fort Phantom Hill, where you can enjoy a self-guided tour through the remains of the old fort. Some of the buildings that still remain include the guardhouse. There are some informational placards available for the site, and you can also tour the grounds where the fort once stood. When you've been looking for a fun place to visit, where you can get a good taste of Texas hospitality, consider a campsite at Hords Creek Lake/Flatrock Park. Catch a fish on the lake, visit a nearby museum or cool off at a local water park. Check out a campervan rental near the campground and enjoy exploring the central portion of the Lone Star State!
