Located in the southern half of West Virginia and just over 50 miles from Virginia is Little Beaver State Park. This 562-acre state park surrounds 18-acre Little Beaver Lake. Running through the park and connecting to the lake is Little Beaver Creek. This area has been used for recreation by different groups since the 1940s. It wasn’t until 1972 when the creek was dammed that it was established as a day-use park. In 2011, upgrades to the park and campsites allowed for large groups to camp and enjoy nature together.
In Little Beaver State Park, you'll find mostly flat, forested land surrounding with grassy meadows surrounding a lake of the same name where anglers come to see what they can catch and hikers and campers come to explore the trails.
Several towns are only a few minutes from Little Beaver State Park, such as Daniels, Shady Spring, and Beaver. Fourteen minutes away is the city of Beckley. A short ways north is New River Gorge National River. To the south is Bluestone State Park. In short, you'll find plenty of places worth exploring on your motorhome camping trip at Little Beaver State Park.
