The keen anglers among you will be delighted to hear that Fence Lake is home to a wide range of fish species, each with their own sporting appeal and characteristics. Camping At Fence Lake
Although no campsites exist directly on the shores of the lake, there are many only a short drive away. One such campground is Broken Bow Campground a few miles west of Fence Lake. This site offers campers partial hookups that include a water hookup and 20 amp electrical hookups. On-site facilities include a general store, restrooms, picnic tables, and a swimming pool. Pets are welcome on this RV park but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Exploring The Area
Campers with small children should take a visit to Northwoods Children's Museum in Eagle River. The museum offers a wide range of exhibits that engage children in new ways, and get them thinking about a subject they would not otherwise be aware of. One such exhibit is named the ‘The Energy Expedition,' this interactive exhibit teaches children about the many different alternative energy resources we can use, which in turn helps the planet. Another is the ‘Art Center’ exhibition; this gives children a hands-on approach to all things creative. This unique museum will give the little ones hours of fun, and also provide entertainment for the whole family, a great day out for anyone in the Vilas County area.
