Mount Tamalpais State Park is a few minutes from town, with around 6,000 acres of incredible forests perched above the water. It's easy to lose yourself in the best possible way when strolling through these deep evergreen woods. Don’t forget to hike up Mount Tamalpais which lends its name to the coastal park, as it is equal parts challenging and serene. Muir Woods National Monument combines with Mount Tamalpais State Park to form a larger natural area. The monument takes its name from John Muir, the man who first lobbied the government to create national parks in an effort to preserve nature and ensure there is ample space for people to enjoy outdoor recreation. The only thing missing from this incredible nature area is a campground but this shouldn’t discourage you from bringing your Bolinas camper rental to check out the ancient redwood trees at the national monument.

Bolinas is a small community along the ocean so naturally, its most popular attractions are and always will be its fantastic beaches, hidden away from the world and extremely private. Bolinas Beach and Stinson Beach are both hidden gems that are cherished by those that know of their beauty. Audubon Canyon Ranch is a gorgeous historic property near town with lots of nature trails where guests can spot a variety of birds. The ranch house itself was built ages ago and is an amazing sight to behold up close.
