The total insider secret in the Bay Area Coyote Point is a great start off point for your San Francisco RV rental. The county park has 3 RV sites in the back of the parking lot that will fit any size RV. We have had a few renters stay here with no neighbors! How is that for one of the most amazing pieces of real estate on the bay? A good spot to do a dry run and walk thru in your RV rental.
Marin Park is the closest recreational vehicle park to San Francisco--just 10 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, and only 14 miles from Berkeley. If you need a break from driving you can take a ferry or bus into San Francisco. The Muir Woods, Napa and Sonoma Valley, and Pt. Reyes and many other California attractions are within reach. This park has been busy so may not be available for your RV rental trip but may be an option for the shake-down night out.
Everyone has heard of Alcatraz, the infamous prison that held some of America's most dangerous criminals. The subject of many films and books, Alcatraz has become a part of American culture, ingrained in our history and memory. As part of your visit to San Francisco, don't forget to schedule a tour of Alcatraz Island. Visit the site of so many stories and movies, and experience it, firsthand, for yourself, while also learning about the history behind it all.
Visitors can enjoy the Martha Walker Native Plants Garden, disc golf course, camping and picnicking, and the many trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Skyline is only a few miles from downtown Napa where great shops and wonderful restaurants await.
You'll be camping on a pristine coarse sand beach with views of the San Francisco, its famous Golden Gate Bridge and the rugged Pacific Coast of northern California. Only 8 miles north of downtown San Francisco, and less than 4 miles away from Sausalito. You can hike trails that offer a colorful landscape of Monterrey pines, Cypress, Blue Gum eucalyptus, Coastal sage and Lupine.
If you have a passion for botany or nature in general, then this is a mandatory stop. Established in 1890, the Garden, has amassed over 13,000 different kinds of plants from around the world, cultivated over 34 acres. It is worthy to note that the garden holds one of the largest and most diverse collections in the United States.
University of California voted as one of the best public universities in the world, is a landmark of Berkeley and it has a classical architectural feel. There is an amazing tower located at the top of the hill, which offers spectacular views of the city. The library is a majestic building and there is a Greek amphitheater, where amazing performances are shown. UC Berkeley also has a dinosaur exhibition with some interesting replicas of tyrrannosarus rex and a teradactyl.
To enjoy views of the San Francisco bay, skyline and the Golden Gate Bridge make your way over to Vista Point. You can even walk or bike the bridge to take in more panoramic views.
