Lisbon is an unincorporated community in Howard County, Maryland; it was founded in 1810 as New Lisbon and later had its name shortened. The town creator subdivided the town in 1822 into 100 quarter-acre lots; it had eight stagecoaches coming and going daily by 1835. The single room Annapolis Rock School was built in 1894 and served the community until 1943. The Lisbon Hotel is said to be the community's oldest surviving building; it supported a post office in 1851 and was attracting coach and train visitors from Baltimore by 1860. The town was the first community in Maryland to have a traffic roundabout, built in 1993.

The Great Outdoors
South Mountain State Park is a multi-use park existing between the Pennsylvania-Maryland state line and the Potomac River. The park is open to the public from early morning to sunset year-round, and it is a popular destination for hiking and hunting. Overall we had a really great experience with Forrest and the van! It's a longer one at 22 feet so felt spacious for two people and easy enough to drive. The bed is very comfortable and there is LOTS of storage for clothes, gear, food, dishes, etc. The van has all the basics for cooking plus a toaster and an air fryer which was great to have. The doors have screens, which is nice for cooking and hanging out when it's warm. There is hot water too! Nice windows near the bed, nice to have fresh air when sleeping. Forrest provided nice sheets, blankets and towels.
