Lisbon is an unincorporated community in Howard County, Maryland; it was founded in 1810 as New Lisbon and later had its name shortened. The town creator subdivided the town in 1822 into 100 quarter-acre lots; it had eight stagecoaches coming and going daily by 1835. The single room Annapolis Rock School was built in 1894 and served the community until 1943. The Lisbon Hotel is said to be the community's oldest surviving building; it supported a post office in 1851 and was attracting coach and train visitors from Baltimore by 1860. The town was the first community in Maryland to have a traffic roundabout, built in 1993.

The Great Outdoors
South Mountain State Park is a multi-use park existing between the Pennsylvania-Maryland state line and the Potomac River. The park is open to the public from early morning to sunset year-round, and it is a popular destination for hiking and hunting. It can be accessed from a variety of places and is generally only accessible by foot. South Mountain, within the park, has a number of scenic vistas and is Maryland's portion of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Exactly as advertised and so comfortable for a long weekend in West Virginia! The van was easy to drive and the backup camera made it easy to park as well. The bed is comfortable, but be aware that it's not full length -- I'm 5'7" and opted to sleep diagonally so I could stretch out fully, but north-south would have worked as well. The composting toilet was easy to use and didn't smell at all. I had more than enough power and water for three days even though I didn't get any sun to charge the batteries with. The interior is in great condition. Would book again!

I just returned from a 10-day trip from Virginia to Maine in Minty Fresh. Kellsey was great to work with. She was communicative and responsive before, during and after the trip. The van was immaculate (many RV travelers commented on it along the way), was super easy to navigate both city and country roads, and the mattress was surprisingly comfortable. I planned this trip in a variety of ways: drive my car and stay in hotels and bnbs; fly commercial, rent a car, and stay in bnbs; or hire a friend to fly me in a small plane, rent a car, rent two rooms in a hotel. Renting Minty Fresh was definitely the way to go, and I was able to see so much more of the northeast. Thanks, Kellsey!
