Discover Escanaba RV rentals for memorable road trips

The small port city of Escanaba, Michigan can be found on the Upper Peninsula, which connects with the Lower Peninsula by way of the Mackinac Bridge. Escanaba is about as far as you could possibly get from Detroit despite being in the same state, so it has a very different feel than the rest of Michigan. The city's name comes from the name of a smaller native village inhabited by the Ojibwa tribe in the same area, thought to mean “land of the red buck” by language experts. In 1863, the port city was founded, soon becoming a major transportation hub for timber and minerals headed east to supply the military during the Civil War.

The Great Outdoors

If you rent an RV in the hopes that you might see exceptional forest parks and divine stretches of lakefront on Lake Michigan, then Escanaba is truly an impeccable choice. Ludington Park in the middle of Escanaba is perhaps one of the city's best features, occupying space right on the lake. There are fitness circuits and machines on-site for exercise, walking and biking paths, a boat launch, fishing piers, playgrounds, tennis and volleyball courts, and a bandshell hosting concerts and festivals in the summertime.

RV Parks

Due to its proximity to the Hiawatha National Forest, Escanaba is a great place to rent an RV, with lots of RV parks and resorts in the vicinity. Vagabond Resort and Campground has cabin rentals, large RV lots, a playground for kids, a game room, and lots of space for hunting and fishing.

City Attractions

It would be a stretch to say that Escanaba is teeming with attractions and big-city sightseeing opportunities, but it certainly isn’t lacking options. The Sand Point Lighthouse, built shortly after the town’s founding in 1867, is one of the oldest and most important buildings in the region. This fully restored National Historic Landmark has been kept looking new, proving to be a vital addition to the shoreline. The lighthouse has been safely guiding ships to safety for over 150 years, and it is quite pretty too. Be sure to take a tour and climb to the top to see some panoramic views of the lake.

We had a great time in Door County staying in Ashely's camper- it was the perfect little home base for our family! Plenty of sleeping space for my husband and I, our two small children, and our medium-sized dog and kept everyone comfortable! Camper was well equipped with all basics you could need and was so darn cute with all the decorations and patio lights! Thank you!

My family of 4 loved the camper! It was a hot weekend and the AC worked so well! The camper was fully stocked with even a few waters in the fridge! We brought paper plates, plastic wear and bags but the camper also had that if we needed it! Everything from extension cords, lanterns, chairs, bug spray, toilet paper, etc was provided! Ryan was prompt in his delivery, the camper was very clean and the blankets were fresh! The master bed was very comfortable for a camper. I highly recommend this camper for your future camping adventures. I loved the new floors! It made clean up after the rain so much easier! Thank you Ryan and see you next year!
