Camp S'more Campground

Minnesota is a popular place for hiking, camping, and enjoying the great outdoors thanks to its diverse scenery, its emphasis on recreation, a massive number of lakes, and some spectacular state parks. Lake Carlos State Park is worth visiting, not far from the RV park. Historic sites, rustic camping areas, gorgeous hiking trails, and three lakes can be found within Lake Carlos State Park, a popular summertime destination. Birdwatching is especially fun along the edges of Lake Carlos, where many species of migratory birds are often spotted. Charles A. Lindbergh State Park is found along the mighty Mississippi River to the east, named for the famed aviator who grew up in a house on the land before it was deeded to the state. Along with a few buildings considered National Historic Landmarks, there is a museum dedicated to Charles Lindbergh, a beautiful riverfront, and a campground. Even farther east is the massive Mille Lacs Lake, a popular place for residents of Minneapolis and St. Paul to get away during the summer months. This large lake reigns supreme in a state known for having “10,000 lakes,” with several recreation areas dotting its shores. Father Hennepin State Park is one of the parks, named for a Catholic priest and explorer who came to the region centuries ago. Birdwatchers and nature photographers frequent this lakeside paradise thanks to its amazing woodland creatures and migratory birds. A wooded campsite by the edge of the lake is an excellent place to camp with an RV or tent. Mille Lacs Kathio State Park is the larger of the two state parks by Mille Lacs Lake, also containing a campground. Swimming beaches, fishing spots, and hiking trails can be utilized while visiting, but the ancient archaeological dig sites of the park are among its most unique features. Burial mounds and other structures left behind by prehistoric native tribes help make Mille Lacs Kathio State Park an excellent place to visit while you rent an RV near Camp S’more Campground.
