Exploring the Area

Spring Valley is a town nestled in the farm heartland of Minnesota. It is a place surrounded by magnificent nature and changing landscapes. Even though this community is pretty small, Mystery Cave State Park campers could find plenty of interesting things to see. The main attraction in this area is the Historic Forestville. It is a living museum that depicts the everyday life of Minnesota’s residents in 1899. Minnesota Historical Society operates this museum, and visitors get to see the authentic structures such as farms, barns, kitchens, and a general store from the turn of the century. The real Forestville used to be an important trading center but lost a large number of the residents after the railroad was built in the other part of Fillmore County.

Tilly was a wonderful home away from home! Erin, our host, was prompt at replying to questions during our trip and was super thorough about instructions in all things camper set-up, hook-up and everything in between. The camper was immaculate on pick up, with ALL the necessities and more. We really appreciated it all! Thank you!

We had an excellent experience renting Scout! The communication and customer service was excellent. The RV is very comfortable. We traveled with two of our three children due to a school trip for our third, and had more than enough space, but would have been comfortable for all 5 of us, too. The bed in the “primary suite” is fantastic and we slept great! My husband did all the driving and technical work (hook ups, leveling), but reported it was relatively straightforward. Our itinerary was mostly RV-friendly but we moved daily and when we rent again, we’ll probably do less distance driving and more local exploring.
