Discover Denville RV rentals for memorable road trips

Although Denville was officially founded in 1913, its history began a long time ago. Immigrants filtered to the Denville area as early as 1690. These settlers were a mix of Quakers, Dutch, English, and Germans. William Penn, who is credited for creating the state of Pennsylvania, surveyed the area in 1715; however, it’s unknown whether he purchased any properties at the time. The oral history that was written down in the early 1800s suggests the name, Denville, is because hunters found a “den” of wild animals in a swampy area that later would become the site of the town.

The Great Outdoors

New Jersey is notorious for its hot, humid summer days and mosquitoes that seem to swarm year-round. Escape the sticky air and biting flies in a Denville RV trailer rental. An RV rental makes it easy to enjoy all the wilderness parks in the area. The Norvin Green State Forest is a modest 5,500-acre park near Bloomingdale. The 20-odd miles of hiking trails are challenging, with hilly, rocky terrains. Cresting the summit of the Norvin Green rewards hikers with a sweeping vista of the New York City skyline and the valley to the west.

RV Parks

When you book an RV rental in Denville, NJ, you'll need to potentially figure out where you’ll park overnight. Many neighborhoods, Denville included, prohibit overnight parking. Sun-Air Lakeside Camp in Oak Ridge, NJ, is adjacent to a small lake with a sandy man-made beach. Hot water, RV hookups, and a playground area are included. It’s also pet-friendly, which is a nice plus.

Exploring the CIty

It’s hard to escape history in New Jersey. A luxury RV rental makes it easy to drive around the country in style and explore all the little out-of-way restaurants and boutique shops, as well as ogle the historic, stately homes, many of which date back to the founding of this country. Original covered bridges and pony-truss bridges dot the lush landscape. In western New Jersey, there are farms that are still owned by the same original families, handed down for generations. Step back into time at Waterloo Village, a historic 19th-century reenactment village in Stanhope, with original (and restored) buildings and homes. The museum on site has thousands of artifacts and original tools and devices that were used by colonists as they struggled to tame the wild new country.

Sam was very responsive and even accommodated earlier pick up which was much appreciated! The only reason not a 5 star review is the propane and water were not full at pick up (both at 1/3). We didn’t notice until we got to the first campsite and heater wouldn’t work. So we had to find a place to refill the propane the next day along our trip. The heater worked fine after that.

The rental experience was first rate. Great trailer. Enjoyed the beds, big fridge, big awning. Easy to tow and came with everything we needed to drop the trailer and hook up to our generator. Met us on time for pickup and drop-off. Good AC. Nice bathroom. Will rent this again.
