Egg Harbor Township is part of Atlantic County, NJ, along with Atlantic City. It is the most populated of the cities and townships. It has two claims to fame, the first being that development of the township was licensed in return for promises that no lumber used to build houses would come from an area known as “Pine Barrens” or “the Pinelands” (an area that has been mentioned on the famous HBO TV series, The Sopranos). It is also home to at least three professional athletes, and Steve Keiner (1999 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest winner), and Nicky Scarfo Jr, an alleged member of the Lucchese crime family.

Closer in, Shady Pines RV Resort (for travelers 55 or older) and Atlantic Blueberry RV Park are just to the north, off of Garden State Parkway. Pomona RV Park and Campground is just north of the airport but is still described as being quiet and being close to a beach. Pomona appears to be able to offer food selections and customer reviews of the site are consistently strong. To the south, RVers can choose between Lake and Shore RV Resort, Sea Grove Camping Resort and Ocean View Resort Campground; all three of these accommodations are located just off of US-9.</span></p>
