About an hour away in McAlester is the OKLA Theatre. This structure was built in 1930 in what was then a recently burned down theater known locally as the Palace Theatre. Known for its atmospheric-style architecture, the OKLA Theatre is no longer in operation, but is a popular spot for photographs and learning more about theater history. There are also sometimes tours of its interior available.
