Between the state capital of Harrisburg, and the city of Allentown, is the tiny town of Auburn, Pennsylvania. The village wasn’t always named Auburn, however; originally called Scotchman’s Lock, settlers first began to construct houses and stores around the year 1830. Upon arrival of the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad in 1842, the name of the town switched to Auburn to reflect the towns stable growth and rise in population.
