Beltzville Lake is a popular fishing destination, with many anglers camping at Beltzville Lake in the hope of getting a big catch. Not only is the lake full of fish, but the creek is also regularly stocked with trout by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Beltzville Lake is also great fun for recreational boaters, with canoes and kayaks often spotted in the small coves of the lake exploring the shoreline.

One of the nearest towns to the lake is Jim Thorpe, a fascinating little town full of history. There are museums galore in the town, such as the Asa Packer Mansion Museum, which is located in the home of Asa Packer. The Old Jail Museum is also very interesting for many, a building that served as a jail throughout 1980.
