Historical Pennsylvania is riddled with small, cobblestoned villages tucked away along the county side. Consider booking a luxury motorhome rental to Boiling Springs to be charmed by the well-maintained historic architecture and go in search of the natural artesian wellsprings (no, they’re not boiling hot) scattered throughout the town.

Aside from its springs, Boiling Springs is known for being the halfway point along the Appalachian Trail. As a result, South Middleton Township, which includes Boiling Springs, was designated as Pennsylvania’s first Appalachian Trail community. Now, there are a total of 23 of these communities; these towns serve a vital role to hikers as they make their way along the trails. Upon stopping, hikers may send or pick up mail, shower, and stay overnight at specific places for a discount. You may not get the same discount, but you’ll surely get the same hospitality when you come through with your Boiling Springs motorhome rental.

Children’s Lake isn’t one spring per se but rather the result of partially damming the brook that is fed from all of the 30 springs. Dating back to the 1750s when the dam was used as a power source, Children’s Lake now feeds into the Yellow Breeches Creek and allows for catch-and-release fishing year round. Guided fishing experiences are also available for beginners or if you prefer not to worry about navigating the woods.
