Its name means “big hill” in Welsh, thanks to the large prominence that the famous and eponymously named women’s college sits on. Bryn Mawr College was opened in the late 1800s by Quakers and was one of the first universities in America to grant graduate degrees to women. It’s now one of famed Seven Sisters Schools – an elite group of northeastern liberal arts colleges.

The Great Outdoors
One of the best green spaces in the area is the most obvious and is the Bryn Mawr College campus itself. When you rent an RV here, it’s well worth exploring the beautiful campus if for no other reason than to take in its history as one of the most famous women’s colleges in early America. A stroll across the green is especially nice during the summer when the grounds are a bit quieter, and most of the students have gone home for break. It’s also amazing to see the cherry blossoms bloom in the springtime.
