It is located between the two larger cities of Allentown, less than 20 miles to the south, and Wilkes-Barre less than 50 miles to the north. According to legend, in the late 1800's, a man was executed at the jail for crimes he proclaimed he was innocent of. He slapped the wall, leaving a mark, and proclaimed it would never be removed as it showed proof of his innocence. The mark is still there today. The site is only open seasonally, call for current hours.
