In northeastern Pennsylvania, close to the border of New Jersey, is the pleasant village of Stroudsburg. Despite being in an entirely different state, the village is part of the New York City statistical area and is counted as a suburb of the large metropolis. Despite its small population, Stroudsburg serves as a community hub for many of the surrounding, outlying communities that lack downtown areas of their own. The Stroudsburg downtown area is lively and full of charm, with plenty of wonderful restaurants and retail shopping centers to patronize while walking around the pedestrian-friendly area. Main Street is dotted with trees and greenery that help supplement the elegant, old buildings that have existed for well over a hundred years.
