Located in the outskirts of Rockford's beautiful countryside inside a secluded valley of the Kishwaukee River, Blackhawk Valley Campground is considered by some as one of the best kept secret of the Midwest With over 130 sites, Blackhawk Valley has something for everyone. Campers can enjoy fun activities on almost every weekend along with a playground, pedal carts, mini golf, basketball (just to name a few) or just kick back and relax as you soak up nature at it's finest. With some of the lowest prices in the area, it's no wonder that Blackhawk Valley has become the "preferred" campground of travellers staying in the Rockford area! RV facilities and amenities include pull-thru sites, big rig access, full hookups, electric, sewer, 50 amp, WiFi, water, cable TV, pool access, and riverfront access, Family pets are welcome at the campground. Blackhawk Valley Campground is a nice little vacation spot itself, and it is also a nice location to explore Northern Illinois and nearby Wisconsin.
The rugged beauty of the Kettle Moraine State Forest makes Waukesha County a haven for campers. Pull in with an RV for a restful camping trip with the comforts of home, load everything on your back and head to a secluded walk-in site, or bring horses for a frontier-style camp out, complete with tether post and riding trails. RV Accommodations include pull-thru sites, big rig access, 50 amp, electric, clean restrooms and showers. There are a variety of sites, most very secluded and private. One of the best areas is the outer loop close to Ottawa Lake. Though the lake is small, it has a clean, sandy beach and dogs are allowed to swim at one end of the lake. Several sites are actually on the lake. However, these sites are all on a steep embankment and none of them has electricity. The park's electric sites are currently a mix of 30A and 50A. Kettle Moraine State Forest has numerous hiking trails to enjoy.
If ever there was a reason to pack up that RV and head on down to Wisconsin, then the Lakeview Campground and Bar in Janesville is it. This is the ideal site to hookup that RV and relax, as the amenities on the property will hardly require you to set foot out of the park at all. The property has 91 sites, and each site is a pull-through, which allows easy access. Each site includes a fire pit and picnic table to make those camp dinners feel a little more authentic. The sites include sewer and metered electricity, and those furry friends are welcome as long as they remain on a leash. Possibly one of the best features of the campground, is the stunning view of Lake Koshkonong, which provides a wonderful time for boating enthusiasts. The premises also features a bar and grill which has a relaxing view of the lake.
