Most people think of the ocean beaches or gulf waters of Florida, but did you know that there’s an “inland sea” right in the heart of the state? The wondrous body of water of Lake Okeechobee is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the United States, and contained by the Herbert Hoover Dike, built in 1928. Waterways on either side connect the lake to other parts of the state, creating a 152-mile boating passageway right in the middle of the state. You can hike, access the scenic trail where you can spend a night camping on the Kissimmee River, or catch a pontoon or airboat ride from the marina.

A tiny hamlet of just 5,000 residents, Okeechobee has a small-town feel, but is close to attractions in bigger towns like Orlando, with its theme parks and family attractions, as well as a few hour’s drive from either of the coasts.

Steve was great, delivered and set up the rv in the rain very quickly. We only used the rv to sleep in so can only speak to the comfort and size of the bed. No issues. A/C worked great, I would rent from them again! Thanks, and enjoy!

Jeff was an awesome host and the camper met all of our expectations. Taking care of all set up and provided an informative tour before our week long stay and we appreciated all of the features the camper offered. We joined our family with kids who rented a site in Long Point park for that week as well had had a wonderful time entertaining as the awning, lighting and outdoor matt area was an awesome feature as well.
