The sleepy riverside city of Wabash is located southwest of Fort Wayne and directly east of Logansport. On the Wabash River from where it derives its name, Wabash was founded during the 1830s after the land was taken from local Potawatomi and Miami Native Americans as a result of the Treaty of Paradise Spring. The proximity of both of Wabash and Erie Canal meant the town grew quickly.

One of Wabash's strangest claims is that it was one of the first electrically lighted cities in the U.S. and the world. However, this claim is often disputed by historians. Due to the town's location on the Wabash River, there are plenty of natural wonders to explore, making an RV rental in Wabash great fun for outdoor enthusiasts.
