If you love nature and the outdoors, then Savannas Preserve State Park is a must see! Located on the southeastern coast, the park is a natural area of beaches and a basin marsh. It’s a popular place for picnicking or family gatherings at the pavilions. The wetlands provide excellent opportunities for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Plus, there are more than 15 miles of trails for hikers, bikers and horseback riders to enjoy. St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park is a wonderful place to spend the day. It’s just on the northern end of Jupiter Island and only reachable by boat. Once there, venture down the boardwalk to the mangrove forests where you can kick back in a hammock and enjoy the breeze through the cabbage palms, wild limes and paradise trees. In the summer, many different varieties of sea turtles use the island for breeding, including green, loggerhead and leatherback turtles. The park is also a great place for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and sunbathing. Take the Port St. Lucie camper rental just a little outside the city to Stuart and you’ll find Seabranch Preserve State Park. It’s home to four distinct natural habitats and several miles of trails. It’s a great place for a picnic or a hike, as well as biking or rollerblading. The park encompasses more than a mile of undeveloped beachfront and provides a safe haven to many threatened or endangered species, including sea turtles. It’s a popular place for swimming, snorkeling, fishing and sunbathing. Though swimming and snorkeling should be done with caution as there are underwater obstacles left behind from World War II.
