If there is one thing that California is known for, it's the epic scenery and natural beauty of the state. The park straddles both sides of the Tomales Bay from which it gets its name and contains several swimming areas and peaceful beaches. The land was once occupied by the coastal Miwok people, and there is an interpretive program at the park that explains the history of the native people that once called the peninsula home.
RV Parks to Visit
It can be quite tricky to find an RV park or campground when you rent an RV in Inverness, as most of the local campgrounds are for tent camping only. Olena Campground can be found on the edge of Point Reyes National Seashore with large spacious campsites for you to park and stay. There are playgrounds, a clubhouse, a post office, some shared kitchens, and even basketball and volleyball courts to use during your stay.
City Sightseeing
Inverness is a place of great natural beauty but there are not too many things to do in the small town aside from eating and drinking. The nearby city of Petaluma is quite a bit larger and therefore more likely to fulfill your need to see attractions and get a taste of the city life when you rent an RV in Inverness. The nearby outlet mall is a popular shopping destination frequented by people from as far as San Francisco and Oakland for its bargains. The outdoor mall has a great walking path with benches.
