Although not quite a beach town, Hobe Sound, Florida is close enough to the Atlantic Ocean to enjoy the same views, vibes, and the weather usually reserved for coastal towns. Hobe Sound is separated from Jupiter Island by the Indian River, so what it lacks in oceanfront it makes up for in wonderful waterways where residents park their boats.

Hobe Sound is named for the Jobe native peoples who called the area home before the arrival of the European explorers. The first foreigners to ever see the Hobe Sound area were survivors of a shipwreck off the coast. These passengers were given aid by the kind Jobe people.

Over the years, Hobe Sound would grow from a small village into a playground for the rich and famous. Hobe Sound was manufactured during the land boom of the 1920s in a race to develop the wild yet scenic beaches of Florida. When you book an RV in Hobe Sound, the beaches are most likely the deciding factor, and there are over 8,000 miles of coastline in the Sunshine State. Major cities and tourist destinations can be found to the south when you rent an RV and make the drive to Miami or Fort Lauderdale, both of which are less than two hours away.
