The Great Outdoors

The 20,945-acre wildlife management area is less than a 30-minute drive away in Palm City and features a five-mile nature trail with plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing. Visitors can also ride bikes, hike, and camp at the primitive camping sites. If you have a horse, bring them to Allapattah Flats and take a ride on the equestrian trails or the 150-acre riding area. Seasonal hunting is also permitted. The nature area is made up of marshes and slash pine flatwoods and is home to many types of animals including sandhill cranes, wood storks, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and crested caracaras.

Exploring the City

Indiantown is a relatively rural community, so there’s not much to do within the city besides spending time outdoors. However, there is much to do nearby. If you’re in the mood for some retail therapy, the Treasure Coast offers some of the best shopping around. Check out the high-end boutiques of Harbour Bay Plaza or peruse the chic apparel found at Treasure Coast Square Mall. In the mood for something a little “out there”? Hit up Jensen Beach and Stuart's downtown area, where you’ll find an interesting blend of quirkiness and refinement.
